This is the press release statement about the show:"The second half of the 19th century was an age of faith in all knowledge derived from science. In the visual arts, this spirit was embraced in Realism - the accurate and objective description of the observable world; no more romantic paintings of the elite class. Focused on scientific concepts of vision and the effects of light, Realism sets as a goal the truthful and accurate depiction of the ordinary. Today it is hard to imagine Realism as a social statement. Regardless of politics, the works of artist Patricia Bennett are a testament to the practiced techniques of painting; however, her work is a far cry from ordinary. Her clever juxtaposition of objects suggests a bit of humor not usually seen in this genre of work. While you will be awed by her mastery of skills, her subject matter and lyrical mark making will make your heart sing. These paintings like the young artist herself are full of personality! Show hangs from March 17 to April 23, 2007."
Patricia has donated a painting to the annual Lotta Art fundraiser for School 33. Tickets range from 135$ to 150$ and the catered event takes place April 21, 2007. Attendance ranges from 250 people up, and it's a lot of fun.

Patricia was invited to be part of an exhibit at Maryland Hall, Annapolis called, "Still Life". She exhibited along with artist Joan Brady in one of the galleries. The exhibit was up from January 5 through February 9.
